I'm really really thinking about posting regularly on here now....been toying with the idea for awhile now, sorry it's taken me so long. :)

Christmas morning surprise

When mom came up for Christmas, she brought with her an entire box full of slides and a slide projector tray full of slides, but no one knows where the actual projector is. The slides are nothing but family photos mostly of my dad and such from when I was little......wow. I might have to find an antique shop or see if maybe a library has one I can borrow? Or heck surely there's a way to just take them somewhere and have actual pictures made? If you'd like to know more to the story, read on

Evidently one of the "meetings" DH had in Oklahoma City one evening was with my mom. He called me that night to let me know he was done with most of his meetings and he was in downtown. Well, I had talked to my mom earlier and knew she was working late and since her office is downtown, I suggested he call her and go out for a coffee or something. He thought that was a good idea so I called mom and told her DH was in town and only a few blocks away and that he would be calling to take her out for a coffee. Afterall, they were both "done" with working a late evening so it worked out perfectly.....at least from my perspective. What I *didn't* know (until Christmas morning) was DH had been at mom's office the whole evening and when I called and talked to them both to arrange a coffee outing they had actually only been rooms apart in the same building. LOL What were they working on you ask?? Mom had a huge box of pictures of dad that she and DH were working together to scan to disk.....when they were finished, they had 4 CD Roms completely FULL of pictures they had scanned. For Christmas, DH was going to give me one of those photo montage books from Heritage Makers (I think they are like creative memories? I don't know), but hadn't gotten around to picking out the pictures for it yet, so now I get to go through them all and help pic out pictures. He was planning on doing this last year when it would have been more "appropriate" timing-wise, but never got around to it and has had the box of pictures in his office for the past year!!!

So needless to say, I was a bawling blubbering mess (happy, not sad) Christmas morning....my husband is so thoughtful. ;)So now you have the full story, I warned you, the delete key was right there and you never pushed it. Oh and mom also brought me two letters dad had written her while they were dating and he was in boot camp before going to Vietnam...talk about weird.

Cecilia's first day of school

Monday, Cecilia went to her school for an evaluation and to be assessed. Her teacher (Ms. Smith) took her into the classroom by herself and I filled out paperwork. Then when Cecilia got out, on the way to the van I tried to get as much info out of her as I could...she was saying she couldn't remember and I think maybe she didn't want to talk about it or something, but I think I eventually got it all out of her. She had to sit and read a book quietly for awhile....then write her name on a piece of paper and cut it out. Then draw a picture (which she drew of herself and me). Then grouped things together like pets, things you play with, and things you ride on. Also did a pattern (blue red blue red etc). The teacher asked who was in her family so she told her everyone. I think that was it.

She was a little shy and scared about going to school for the first day today (wednesday). When we got there, I helped her hang her backpack on her hook and she got a name tag and then had to sit on a yellow line on the floor (there was a blue line and red line too). Then we left. Her day goes from 11:50am-2:45pm. It was strange just being home with Anthony and Daniel this afternoon, but it was good. Then we picked Cecilia up from school and she was VERY excited and LOVED it. She likes her teacher a lot and was asking when she gets to go back. :) So I think she'll adjust well. :)

Random: Thoughts on having a Blog

Ok. Seems I can't keep a blog updated to save my life, and then I finally realized why. One day I was pondering the meaning of blog-life, and thought "Why is it I can never keep my blog up to date?" So here's the reason. Simply put I don't know my audence. Let me explain...

When someone writes a blog, do they write it so their friends will have updates? Is it for Family? Close friends? Aquaintances? Totally random people who might read?

I guess the thing is this....since I'm unaware who my audience is (specifically), it's difficult to write. I could write my random everyday thoughts, feelings, complaints, concerns about things I find "important", sort of a "Dear Diary" if you will, but doing so would mean potentially the whole world could see what I write. And maybe I don't write it so much as a "Dear Diary" but then what would I really write?

Maybe the question should be "What is a blog for?" Is it to be used like a diary...I know some people use it that way. Is it just for information?

Do I write it with the knowledge that potentially anyone (family, friend, foe) could read it, and not post any thoughts/comments that might "offend" people? Or do I just have a free for all, and post whatever I want, and if people get offended who cares?

Argh, what do I do?

So with that being said, I don't know how much, if any I will keep this blog thing up, but we'll see. :) Maybe I should just start anew and write whatever.

Harry Potter 5 movie

So I'm sitting here, waiting for time to pass. The new Harry Potter movie debuts tomorrow (July 11th), but the genius people at the bigger theaters decided to release it at 12:01am, so I'm waiting until I can hop in my car and go see a REALLY late movie tonight. Woo hooo!!!!! Can't wait!!! Then book 7 come out next week and of course I'll be there for the midnight release of the book as well. Although (yawn) I'm just now beginning to get sleepy, need to wake up.

Late night, I should be cleaning

Goodness. It's 10:46pm, and a friend of mine sent me her blog address, so I just HAD to read. So of course it made me think I needed to update my blog, but when I got back on here, I noticed I had actually begun two other blogs, both of which are outdated. One from 2002 and the other from 2005, so I figured what the heck, I'll just start a new one.

So I was reading and reading, meanwhile I should be cleaning up the living room. A friend's kids are coming over at 6:30am so I definately won't have time or energy to do it in the morning, so I'm supposed to be doing it tonight (yawn). Guess I should get off of here and go clean.

Meanwhile DH is still busy with "work" and isn't home once again, would have thought he'd be home by now, but no such luck. Guess if he were home I definately wouldn't be cleaning anyways.....well I definately wouldn't be on here writing that's for sure. But heck, if he were here, I coul dhave him help me clean up. LOL (sigh). Oh well.

First entry - June 13th, 2007

Ok, not sure if I will keep up on this blog or not. In fact when I came on here to do my blog, I realized I already had two other blogs going, both of which are extremely outdated....one was from 2002 and the other from 2005. Wow! So hopefully will keep this one up, please leave comments, let me know if you like reading, what you would like to see on here, etc. I think I might try to re-post a few entries from my other blogs. :)
